Supa Life of a Shopaholic

Sweets and Eats

This is a wonderful gift from my staff that I will always treasure!! πŸ™‚ So much thought and effort went into it! πŸ˜πŸ’• Can’t believe it’s the end of the school year already! This year flew by and it was truly an awesome learning experience. It was also my first year as a DOE teacher, oowhooo!!!! Our school also had quality review this year, but we did so great! So proud of my school, students, and staff!

I had one student who first came into my class unable to walk and he had to crawl around, but now he’s able to walk independently! Another student who used to run out of the classroom (or school! 😱) at any given moment, but now she’s following one-step directions and we can leave our door open! I can go on and on about the major accomplishments my students have made this year, and it makes my heart so full and proud!

Wish I could post pictures of them, but I can’t. 😩 However, here’s a picture of our amazing shark classroom door! We are one awesome class! (On a side note: It doesn’t feel like the last day of school for me since I’ll be working summer with the same kiddos haha!)

A wonderful weekend~

It has been a while…maybe marriage life has been a little too good? Or perhaps knitting took over my life for a while and so I stopped blogging altogether! Anyways, I’m backkkkkkkkkkkkk! 😁

Don’t R and I look so happy to be eating these delicious skewers? We are!!! It was a great day with amazing friends, and I actually got to use the swimming pool!!! Oowhoo!!! (Most of you may know that I’m allergic to sunblock which is one of the most annoying allergies to have…)

I made these s’mores bars for the bbq and it came out really yummy and of course- sweet! Found the recipe on Pinterest and just added extra hand-smashed graham crackers to the dough. Smashing! I really wanted to eat it all when it came out of the oven…but I need self-control!!!  Feel like we were advertising for Corona here haha awesome picture of us as we took a break from volleyball.

We played this awesome 4D (virtual reality) game at their place. R did pretty well with the zombie game and I? I, on the other hand, started screaming before the game even started!! Pretty darn realistic :X  Today we decided to go to Staten Island bright and early to beat the traffic. We brought our new Sony a6000 camera with us to test it out!

Walked on the boardwalk, gulfed down some cheeseburgers, took a bunch of pictures and we headed for some shopping before going to the birthday party. πŸ‘  I love love love these shoes!!! It was LOVE on first try! Had to buy them and wear it for the party hehee!! The bag was ordered from Gilt (very funky), and I love how it is handmade- every bead was sewed by hand!!!!πŸ’•πŸ’“

This birthday party was beyond amazing! The mom threw the most impressive, detail-oriented party of all time. She had mini capes for all the children, disco dance party, and everything was labeled and so perfect! Usually R and I get a bit bored during kid parties but this one was epic! The party finished before we even had thoughts of leaving! That’s always a good sign, no?

When we finally made it home we decided to go on an hour long walk around the neighborhood wearing our hiking boots since we need to break them in. R cut up apples for us and we just went strolling around~ It was really nice and R checked to see if the boots really were waterproof! (We think they are…!) Anyhows, those were some of our adventures for this weekend and we ended the night with the final episode of GOT. (Mouth shut…) Good night!!!! 😁

Food? Food…fooooood!!!!

Ever since Ray asked me (nicely) to cook something new…..I’ve been on a Pinterest roll!!! Cheddar broccoli tots, siracha honey chicken, etcetc~ 😁 Ray’s a creative chef naturally so he doesn’t need the help of the internet (lucky guy!) Here’s what he made last night for dinner. A baked potato steak bowl with homemade salsa, quinoa chips and all the other yummy goods that come in a “salad bowl.”
I am attempting to bake my first pernil (Puerto Rican pork) and here is the raw version- yummy!!! 😁😁😁
Here it is after being flipped back and forth in the oven for 4 hours! It is amazing and juicy and tender and awesome and I love it!!!!!! It was a success!! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ˜

Wow, a lot of time has passed since my last post! Things have been very busy at work, but my newfound love for knitting has been keeping me sane and so happy. Here’s a picture of my (new) hubby and the scarf I knitted up for him! πŸ™‚ Plus his new shoes for Christmas! 😍😁
Today Ray took me to the NYC VogueKnitLive which is a yarn/knitter’s idea of heaven. Vendors from all over the world gather for this convention and it is a sweet sweet place! My husband made sure to bring his headphones and extra phone batteries. πŸ‘

So many beautiful soft yarn to choose from!!!! I held on to my husband’s creditcard and did my damage!!!!
I always wanted to try giant needle knitting! My wish came true!!! 😍😍😍
My beautiful new collection of yarn plus big needles. I also won a free Lee Child audiobook 😍😝. Some of the yarn were $36 per skein πŸ˜±πŸ˜…πŸ˜ but how could I say no?!?! I discovered many new favorite yarn companies today, and it was such an exciting day for me!!! I’m also excited about using my little yarnbowl! πŸ‘πŸ’•

I need to thank my wonderful husband for not complaining once and following me everywhere and holding all my bags. Plus thank you for not freaking out over the cost of yarn and being so understanding about my passion. I’m not sure I can be as nice as him when it comes to his hobbies….which is Crossfit and working out hahaa πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

I missed the blogging world! β›„οΈπŸ˜

Woke up early today so I was able to snap some pictures! This is my simple beauty routine of the day. Eyebrows with my favorite Anastasia pencil in Caramel, Goodal face emulsion, a little bit of blush with Too Faced, spray some Caudalie on my face for some freshness, and a poof of Chloe’s Love Story. 😁

Earrings that I designed and handmade that I’ll be wearing today.

Last but not least is my current knitting project!

Goodies for my momma!

Every month or so I will put together some skincare/makeup goodies for my mom. She certainly doesn’t need to go shopping on her own! I have a lot of samples, face masks I buy a bundle of, products I have tried (but I have a million more waiting to be tested and these need to be used!!!), Birchbox samples, and products I will buy for the both of us to use together. This month I feel like is more than usual and I’m excited for her to try these new goodies out! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

Crossfit and Relaxation

Today I went to R’s Crossfit gym bright and early in the morning. After the WOD (workout of the day), R and I and his friend (pictured below) fooled around with jumproping and I attempted to climb the rope. Did I make it to the top? Definitely not…hahaha Afterwards, we went to get a yummy smoothie (honey, banana, peanut butter, soy milk) and I focused on some knitting. Before going home, R and I went to Barnes and Noble. It’s so sad all the locations in Queens are closing this year. 😭😭😭 So of course I had to buy a couple of things… When I got home I did more shopping damage online for YARN!! It costed an arm and a leg but well worth it!!! πŸ™‚ Can’t wait and in the meantime I will have to just knit faster! πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

Hot pink!

Rebecca Minkoff bag that I bought a while back. I still love it!! Matching it up with some bracelets, earrings I designed and made, and of course my engagement ring! Been feeling quite pink lately. ☺️ πŸ’•

I’ve been on instagram for 2 weeks now!! πŸ™‚ Follow me at: supalifeofashopaholic 😁😁

Blue and Gold~ BOTD

Today is Parent Teacher Conference Day so I’ll be at work allllll day! Figured I would need some cheering up by carrying a nice new bag to work today! Got this from the Kate Spade Surprise Sale…love it! Originally bought it for my mom but yes…what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her..hahaa! πŸ™‚
